ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Jets QB Geno Smith is reportedly out 6-10 weeks after being “sucker punched” by reserve LB IK Enemkpali during training camp on Tuesday.

Enemkpali was immediately released by the team after the incident. Coach Todd Bowles was clearly agitated about the situation:
“It’s something we don’t tolerate, something we can’t stand,” Bowles said. “You don’t walk up to a man and punch him in the face.”
The incident means that Ryan Fitzpatrick will start the season under center. There have also been reports that the Jets have reached out to former Bears QB Rex Grossman.
Geno Smith will definitely need surgery, but took the time to post on Instagram that he will return.
